THE Minister for Culture and Tourism, Bartholomew Parapolo says local panpipe groups must teach younger generations of the skills and knowledge about the panpipes sounds.
He was speaking at the closing of the week-long Nat Pan Fest last weekend.
“I would like to encourage you to continue embracing your cultural skills and to share the skills by teaching the younger generations that come after you,” Mr Parapolo said.
He told the groups they have made their respective provinces proud.
“My Ministry will continue to work on our plans to create more opportunities such as this in the coming years.”
He said that Solomon Islands is hosting the 6th Melanesian Arts and Culture Festival next year and he hopes to see some of the groups again during that very important event.
The Division of Culture will continue to update the Solomon Islands public as they progress the plans for the Festival next year.
