The students of Mercy School in Burnscreek, East Honiara were treated to a visit by international music sensation, Papa Cidy on Tuesday morning.
He arrived unannounced and the students and teachers were all excited about his presence.
Papa Cidy went on to mingle with the teachers and was very eager to visit each and every classroom to talk with students and have his photo taken with his fans.
The entire school joined with him in singing his hit song “Evalina”.
After his school visit Papa Cidy also went on to meet and talk with local Burnscreek residents and discuss their lives in the Solomon Islands.
Head teacher, Simon Rilaua, stated, “the was a fantastic experience for the students and we are grateful that Papa Cidy chose to spend his valuable time with us.”
The singing artist is currently in the country on a two weeks visit to host three concerts which was conducted over the weekend and to shoot video clips with local artists.
He travels to Papua New Guinea (PNG) soon to stage a similar concert.
