The Oceania Paralympic and Solomon Islands National Paralympic Committee training camps is currently underway at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport.
The training camp commenced on Monday 5th of September 2022 which will run for five days at the SINIS-high performance centre.
Around 30 Para- athletes representing four Para sports have joined the training camp as the Paralympic committee hopes to select the national Para squad for next year’s games.
These four Para competing sports include Para- archery, Para- athletics, Para- power lifting and Para table tennis.
A statement from the SINIS said that “during the five days of camping the Para athletes will undergo 4x skill sessions, 2x gym session and 3x education.”
“This will include 3x education sessions on wellbeing and lifestyle, nutrition and media which may also include involving them in team bonding activities,” it added.
Meanwhile, the Para- sports training camp is underway and is anticipated to be concluded on Friday.
