Former Director of Culture and Festival Director of the then Ministry of Culture & Tourism Robert Au Nama says participants to the 12th Festival of Pacific Arts in Guam must act responsibly, and their behavior must change as well as have good attitude approach.
He said this while acknowledging the preparation of the Solomon Islands Contingent to the 12th Edition of the Festival of Pacific Arts in Guam this month.
Mr. Au Nama said that since participating at festival since 1996 up till 2014, participants have attitude problems, or have behavior problems that gives head of delegations or leaders of contingents hard times in sorting or dealing with problems arises with couples, individual artists or even groups.
“These sorts of issues must be change and act responsible and assist their head of delegations and officials of the delegation to enjoy the festival festivity.”
Mr Au Nama with more couples participating at the festival than in the past festivals in certain events at the festival, understanding is a must as not to have problems at such a festival of pacific arts.
“As you know a lot of activities and a lot of meeting and exchanging and sharing with other artist of other countries will occurred during the course of the festival. A consult and understanding is for them from my view.”
Furthermore participants take things for grant as a participants and involve in other activities that has not been approved by the council or even head of delegation, or such as taking alcohol as much as they like of which is not right, he added.
Participants are currently on dose must make sure that you have dose with you rather not taking heed of your Doctors advise that may be a lost of lives as in past festivals.
“Respect your Head of Delegation that take in charge of your activities and problems.
“Finally I wish the contingents all the best in Guam Festival of Pacific Arts.”
Meanwhile a mini-festival show will be staged this Friday by the participating contingent. Public are being urged to attend to get a view of the various groups and artists that will perform.
