The Kadere Party executive has vowed to support Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare and his government following a reconciliation ceremony, Monday.
A statement from the Prime Ministers Press Secretariat said the executive members which included President Peter Boyers and Deputy Parliamentary Wing Leader, Andrew Manepora sort out their differences with Mr Sogavare.
The reconciliation ceremony which was held at the Prime Minister’s Office followed Mr Boyer’s involvement with the President of the United Democratic Party (UDP), Sir Thomas Chan and President of Peoples’ Alliance Party (PAP), Sir Nathaniel Waena in calling for Mr Sogavare to resign from leading the Democratic Coalition for Change Government in his capacity as the Solomon Islands Prime Minister, the statement said.
Kadere Party, UDP and PAP are the political parties that form the Democratic Coalition for Change Government (DCCG).
The Kadere Party Interim President, assured the Prime Minister during the ceremony, that the reconciliation puts an end to his support for the efforts of both the UDP Interim President and PAP President, to remove Mr Sogavare as the Parliamentary Wing Leader of UDP and Prime Minister of the country, it was highlighted.
Having ironed out the misunderstanding which led to the stance taken by Mr. Boyers, The Parliamentary Wing Leader of Kadere Party said; “the reconciliation also means that the Kadere Party will continue to support Prime Minister Sogavare in his leadership of DCCG and would refrain from being involved with any attempts to undermine the stability of the DCC Government and the implementation of its policy objectives.
Meanwhile, responding to claims by Mr. Alfred Sasako that the Kadere Party Executive had discussed the agenda of a looming major Cabinet reshuffle, the Kadere Party Wing Leader said, there was not an iota of truth to the misleading media statement that has no factual basis, and is nothing more than speculative assumption which only brings into question the writer’s sources and his professional integrity as a media journalist.
The Kadere Wing Leader said that the purported agenda of a looming major Cabinet reshuffle was never raised as there is no reason to warrant such action.
The Kadere Party President said, the article only reflects the persistent attempts by the author to again sensationalize non-existent issues, confuse the public with misleading information and provoke instability within the ruling Democratic Coalition for Change Government to satisfy personal agendas under the guise of national interest.
The statement said it is clearly evident that Prime Minister Sogavare’s leadership continues to enjoy the full support of the DCC Government Cabinet and Backbenchers.
