Dear Editor – It would be far better than ever sir, if you spare me space in your editorial column to spare my thought on this disrespectful and of course irresponsible argument that is still occupying this wave or media, by these leaders.
I am an Anglican member of the Anglican Church of Melanesia and I come from the far eastern part of this country – Santa Cruz, Temotu Diocese/Province.
Having watched the way you two leaders behave in your arguments so far now is very obvious that two of you no longer do have respect for each other and the flock to which two of you are in charge of.
My only suggestion sir, if you two are Christian leaders then do it the Christian way and not to bla bla about your qualifications or where you have reached in this work around this planet earth like the way you Pastor Francis Feratelia boasted in your response to Mr. Wate that appeared in this paper on Wednesday 20th 2015 issue. Remember, God hates the proud.
From the layman’s point of view sir, allow me to at least share my observation so far on both of you – Pastor Eric Maefonea and Pastor Francis Feratalia.
I did attend any Secondary school but for 3 years, I spent it at the Luesalo Rural Training Centre owned or run by the Church in the Diocese of Temotu.
At the centre I learn a few things on various subjects and one of which is preaching. I was told by my lecturer who is a black American from Canada that you as a preacher, your deadly target “Is to get your Listeners or Audience to Heaven”. That’s all – nothing more, nothing less.
To both of you, not everything that you say in your preachings are from the Bible. There are times that you two seemed to colour the scripture with your own reasonings.
The suggestion by Pastor Francis for a public forum so both of you can debate the book of Romans, to me is a call made by a proud man and not a man with the heart of God.
The statements used by Pastor Francis on Mr. Wate and Pastor Eric Maefonea does not speak well of him as a Church Minister or the Gospel Minister.
This is by questioning where Rev. Maefonea gets his Masters in Theology and to me it looks more like the Tom and Jerry show.
Both of you are Christian leaders therefore the best thing to do, interpret the word of God to people the way God wants it to be and stop the pride cos when you think it makes people to look up to you, it only lower how people values you.
