Pathfinders throughout the country are being urged to prepare well for the much anticipated upcoming Trans Pacific Union (TPU) Pathfinder camporee this end year.
Solomon Islands Mission (SIM) of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church will host the TPU Pathfinder camporee from 16th to 21st December 2019.
Speaking during a press conference at the SIM headquarter last week SIM Youth Director Pr Steve Aquila said about 4000 spaces at the camporee is allocated for local pathfinders.
“Solomon Islands have always attend the TPU pathfinders camporee hosted in other countries and now Solomon Islands have the pleasure to host this grand event.
“This camp event is held once every 8 years and this would be a great opportunity for our pathfinders throughout the country to experience this huge gathering of young people.
“So I urge all pathfinders clubs throughout the country to prepare well and look forward for this grand event and register their clubs now.
“Its a pride for our young people and the country to host this grand event,” said Pr. Aquila.
Registration for the camporee is now open for the pathfinders and early bird registration which is due on July 31st is $480 and regular registration due September 30th is $580.
The event will be held at the new SDA camp site between the SIM headquarter and Betikama Adventist College (BAC).
Its going to be a one week program that features worship, presentations from international speakers, fun outdoor and recreational activities, marching, community service and other activities.
In 2003 Fiji hosted the first TPU Pathfinder Camporee followed by Vanuatu in 2010.
