MEMBERS of the South Sea Evangelical Church (SSEC) central church in Honiara yesterday visited patients at the National Referral Hospital to pray and share gifts.
They are the latest group to visit the hospital during this Christmas season.
On Christmas day, Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare’s family and Rotary Club of Honiara, paid similar visits.
SSEC central church senior pastor Clyde Soai said they’ve shared God’s word with the patients, pray for them, as well as shared gifts.
“This was also an opportunity for the patients to share their physical and spiritual needs with our members,” Pastor Soai added.
The group also sang Christmas songs during the visit.
A patient told the Solomon Star visits like this encourages and gave them hope during their time of pain.
“The best medicine any sick patient could receive while on his or her hospital bed is the word of God and pray from Christians,” the patient said.
“It not only energises us, but also gave us hope.”
He added the songs and gifts also got them into the mood of Christmas celebration.
The patient thanked the SSEC group for their visit and encouragement.
