The Ministry of National Unity Reconciliation and Peace in Auki is conducting a weeklong training on peace building and conflict analysis.
The training which kicked off at the Rarasu Restaurant on Monday is being attended by all the stakeholders in Auki.
The training was funded by the Solomon Islands Government through the Ministry of Peace and reconciliation in Auki Malaita Province.
Paul Baleinakorodawa from Fiji was invited to facilitate the one week training.
Speaking during the training, Mr Baleinakorodawa said, the training is purposely for the participants to understand the peace building work requires analyses.
He explained during the workshop that conflict is a normal or common thing had happened every day amongst people.
“But, violence is what people created.
“This training will help the participants to look at different ways of analyzing things. This training will also help people mindset to think broader of analyzing things,” Mr Baleinakorodawa said.
He encouraged participants who attended training to understand and practice it within their organizations and communities.
It was his first time to conduct such training in Malaita province. He conducted similar training in Honiara last year.
