Dear Editor – Its good to see the successful staging of the national healing and apology week.
At least some of the former combatants have come together and reconcile with each other and with the government, police and Honiara city.
Its a first step to achieving lasting peace in the country.
The experience from the years of ethnic crisis is not what the country wants to see happening again.
Its time to move on from our past history. Lets forget it and rebuild this nation.
Those who declined to attend and making excuses, too bad, because achieving real peace should come from your heart.
As a christian country, we need to focus our attention on God and let Him direct us.
If we profess to be God-loving people but declined to forgive others, then that’s too bad.
Whatever issues that needs to be sorted out should be addressed soon by our responsible authorities.
Thank you government and the former militants for coming together to make peace.
