A THREE-DAY peace building and trauma healing workshop, hosted by the Anglican Church in Auki Keava region, ended successfully yesterday.
The workshop, which started on Tuesday, attracted about 40 youths from different churches around Auki township.
Leslie Filiomea, Malaita diocese reconciliation and peace coordinator, said this was the second region to hold this kinds of workshop in Malaita.
Mr Filiomea said churches like Assemblies of God (AOG), South Seas Evangelical church (SSEC), Kingdom Harvest and Roman Catholic have involved in this program.
He said that central region was the first to coordinate this workshop and the second was Keava region.
He said that after they have finished with Keava region, they will continue on to the northern and eastern regions.
Mr Filiomea said that after they finished up with this training, they will invite a monitoring team from Honiara head office to monitor the progress of the training on Malaita.
He said the group of people who attended this workshop will work together with the monitoring team to establish a new Malaita office this year.
“This training was part of the church’s programme to maintain peace in our province,” he said.
