MINISTER for Provincial Government Silas Tausinga said peace and unity are two elements needed to progress prosperity in the country.
While congratulating Guadalcanal Province during the commemoration of Guadalcanal Province’s second appointed day at the Don Bosco Institute last Friday, Mr Tausinga said underlined the importance of working together for the betterment of Guadalcanal as a province and Solomon Islands as a country.
“Whether it be in our homes, community, provinces our country, we must maintain peace and unity to advance those components.
“We can never achieve our full potential in the absence of peaces and harmony,” Mr Tausinga said.
He said, the people of Guadalcanal need to stand together to develop their province and the nation to its full potential for the next generation.
He acknowledged the Guadalcanal provincial government, chiefs and elders, land owning tribes and the people of Guadalcanal for allowing their resources which allow the Solomon Islands to thrive on.
“Guadalcanal provinces has accommodated a lot of early investment in the country and continue to play host to some of the biggest investment in the country, especially the Guadalcanal palm oil limited and the Gold ridge Mining limited.
“We need to be united to see these projects prosper and to bring prosperity.
“Therefore, my humble call is for us to work together to see these major projects established and thrive.”
