THE scheduled Philippines flight that is expected to bring about 40 students from Manila is being delayed.
This was revealed by the Secretary to Prime Minister (SPM) Dr. Jimmy Rodgers on Sunday at the fortnightly talk-back-show.
He explained the flight is being delayed to accommodate more people from all over the world coming on the same flight.
“Some local citizens coming in from the USA, UK and Manila will be arranged to come on the same flight so it will be delayed to make proper arrangement for all the citizens that should be repatriated,” he said.
The last flight should be on the 17th of March but it will be delayed for a later date, he added.
It is possible to be delayed because other countries should be linked to the same flight.
“We still have other people in UK and United States.
“And we also have people coming into work for Tina Hydro, Honiara Phase two road project, and Honiara airport, these people have been approved to come,” he said.
Within the next few weeks, the flight will be confirmed if it is to be on the 17th of March or it will be moved to a later date.
