Taiwan Technical Mission (TTM) has conducted a pig management training to local farmers recently.
A statement from TTM said the training has improved the farmers’ knowledge in the area of hog feeding and how to address parasitic diseases of pig.
At the workshop, TTM Livestock specialist, Pedro He highlighted some of the parasitic diseases of pigs.
Mr He introduced the external and internal parasites and prevention strategies.
He also provided the specimen of roundworm, and let farmers observe the actual worm’s body.
TTM Livestock specialist, Pedro He said, the parasitic diseases not only effect pig and human health, but also reduce profit of farmer.
The aim of the training, is to improve the knowledge of farmers about tackling parasites.
The farmers have also been encouraged to contact TTM if they find the worms in piggery.
All the participants have learnt a lot and promised to move forward to perform better in raising pig.
