THE Pikinini Netter’s programme organised by the SOSA (Selwyn Old Students’ Association) Netball Club concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony to the 70 girls who participated in the programme.
The certificate presentation was held at the SMI Netball Court Town Ground last Saturday.
SOSA Netball Club Head Coach Shalom Waita told Star Sports that this netball programme aims to develop girls between the ages of 4 and 16. The programme, which began in August and lasted for 8 weeks, focused on teaching the foundational skills of netball.
At the conclusion of the programme, the 70 young female participants were awarded certificates of achievement for successfully completing the programme.
“70 children participated in the programme. They were registered and completed the 8-week course. They received their certificates on Saturday.
“The children underwent eight weeks of training to develop necessary skills to become proficient netball players in the future,” Mrs Waita said.
Mrs Waita expressed that the parents of the participants were pleased with the programme as it provided a solid foundation for their children in netball.
She said the SOSA Club plans to offer a similar programme in 2024.
The SOSA Netball Club extended its gratitude to the Australian High Commission through their Public Diplomacy Team for generously donating netball balls for the programme.
