The SWIRE pikinini program will continue during this school holiday.
HFA General Secretary Leonard Paia confirmed this to Sunday Sports last Saturday.
“Despite the school holiday the pikinini program will continue,’’ he said.
Paia said so far the program has significantly improved.
“Since the program was introduced, basic understanding of football has been very obvious for kids who usually attend our trainings at our centres,’’ he said.
Paia said this can be proved when trained kids play against those who did not went through basic trainings.
“You will certainly observe that basic football will be missing,’’ he said.
He also stressed they are not only training the kids with basic football but trained them with some leadership qualities.
“We’ve not only trained them about football but taught them about discipline,’’ he said.
He said attitude is one of the very big problem our football is encountering at the moment.
“And one of the goals of this program is to teach our children in their early stages and groom them to become national players in the future,’’ he said.
He also stressed that every support towards the program is very important in order to develop our football standard.
Meanwhile the program will continue this morning from 7:30 to 9am at SIFF Academy.
