MEMBER of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) for Ward 29 in Malaita plans to introduce an initiative known as ‘Plant and Play’ program this year.
Felix Bosokuru stated this in a statement on Wednesday.
The statement explained the ‘Plant and Play’ program is a new strategy that will be promoted by Ward 29 development committee for youths in rural communities.
He said the initiative is aimed at creating stability in the community, engage young people with sports during the break- session, contain young people from involving in drinking alcohol and Marijuana, working together and partnership and community engagement.
“This year I will introduce a new initiative call, ‘PLANT and PLAY’ program. This will be for the midland soccer league and South Coast futsal league in ward 29,” Bosokuru said.
He explained that this program is to promote and encourage sports and small scale farming.
However, he said the Bosokuru sports tournament will be an annual event for both the South Coast futsal league and Midland football league.
