THE Leadership Code Commission (LCC) has cleared Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo of an allegation of misconduct in office.
Chairman of the commission Emmanuel Kouhota announced this on Thursday.
Forum Solomon Islands International (FSII) lodged the allegation to the commission last year.
This was in relation to allegation Mr Lilo was involved in extra-marital affair with another woman.
But MrKouhota said their investigation has found no evidence to support the allegation.
“The commission after considering the evidence gathered during the investigation and testimonies made under oath by witnesses during an inquiry before the commission has determined and declared that there was no substance in the allegation,” MrKouhota said.
“The Commission’s declaration means that LCC will take no further action on the matter against the prime minister,” he added.
Meanwhile, Mr Lilo left Honiara yesterday to attend the Australian Business Council forum in Brisbane.
He is expected to speak at the forum, before returning next week.
