PRIME Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo has joined global leaders in expressing his sympathy to the families of the passengers shot down over Ukraine, Thursday, on Malaysian passenger airline MH17.
In strongly condemning the shooting Mr Lilo described it as a “horrendous act of terrorism against innocent global citizens”.
“I join world leaders in condemning such an act and I support their call for an international independent investigation into the gunning down of the Malaysian plane to find out the perpetrators,” he said yesterday.
He said those that were found to carry out the unspeakable act must face justice.
The Prime Minister said the Government and Solomon Islanders alike were in shock to learn of the ‘act of terrorism’ and are joining the rest of the world in mourning the loss of those innocently lives lost on MH17 flight.
