PRIME Minister Manasseh Sogavare has cautioned all citizens not to listen to wrong advice and information but get vaccinated and help protect the country.
In his nationwide address, Mr Sogavare said the only way to protect this nation from covid-19 is to get vaccinated with the AstraZeneca and Sinopharm vaccines.
“Do not listen to wrong advice or information. Now is the time to get ahead if we are all vaccinated and Covid-19 does break our barriers than its impact will be muted because we would have all developed protection against it,” he said.
Mr Sogavare added that both AstraZeneca and Sinopharm are approved vaccines by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the National Medicine and Therapeutic Committee.
“Both the vaccines we are using have been approved by the WHO and our very own National Medicine and Therapeutics Committee,” he said.
On the other hand if you are not vaccinated and Covid-19 does break our barriers, then not only will you likely get infected but you will also spread the virus to those you are supposed to protect, your children and your grandparents, he added.
“Fellow citizens, please waste no time, please be responsible get your covid-19 vaccination right now to protect yourself your families and your country,” he said.
Mr Sogavare wants all people who are 18 years and above to come forward and get their jab at the Central Hospital.
