Dear Editor – There could be a better word to use by the PM for justifying his payments to the ex militants.
These are the very people that brought this country to chaos. They protected nothing as most infrastructures were destroyed and innocent lives are lost due to their criminal actions.
Peace cannot be paid with money. It is something that comes from the heart.
Peace can prevail if Christ, the prince of peace stays in the centre of our leader’s hearts and the rest of the citizens.
To pay peace to avoid future tensions is a very cheap excuse.
Togetherness of Solomon Islands as nation is very important. What has just happened might trigger something else, who knows.
TPA is just an agreement and it is not necessarily that it is fully complied with.
On this note, I would request the PM to publicly avail the findings of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
The ordinary people of this nation need to know the truth behind the tension.
If you are real leader then bring it on to the public.
