Prime Minister (PM) Manasseh Sogavare has acknowledged the connection between the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) government’s vision and mission’s statements and the theme for the Members of Parliament (MP) induction program -‘To Lead is to Serve-United Action for a better Solomon Islands.’
He highlighted this in his speech during the opening of the parliament induction program at the Heritage Park Hotel on Monday night.
The PM said, that the DCC vision, with the grace of God the government pledges to empower all Solomon Islanders to achieve a meaningful quality of life through social and economic reforms.
“With united efforts in leadership to achieve prioritised reforms, all Solomon Islanders, can be assured to see tangible political and spiritual developments,” the PM stressed.
Mr Sogavare then highlighted the mission of the DCC government by saying that it strives to create a God fearing, peaceful, united and progressive Solomon Islands, led by ethical, accountable, respected and credible leadership that enhances and protects people’s cultural, social and economic wellbeing.
“When we contemplates on the vision and mission statements carefully, we will begin to realise and appreciate how it relates well with the theme for the MPs Induction Program-‘To Lead is to Serve-United Action for a better Solomon Islands.’
“The induction program will greatly assist Honourable Members, whether on the Government side, Independent or Opposition, to be better able to execute their roles and responsibilities as national leaders of this country during our time in parliament,” the PM stated.
