Prime Minister (PM) Jeremiah Manele has invited Australian businesses to explore investment opportunities in the agriculture, tourism, fisheries and renewable energy sectors of Solomon Islands and investment more in them for transformative outcomes.
PM Manele made the invitation in his keynote address at the opening of the 13th Australia-Solomon Islands Business Forum held last Tuesday. The three-day forum was held at the Heritage Park Hotel in Honiara.
“We invite you to explore more opportunities for collaborations in areas such as renewable energy, infrastructure, fisheries, agriculture and tourism.
“Together, we can achieve more dynamical individual, creating lasting impacts for our economy.
“We encourage you to explore these opportunities and collaborate with us to realize the full potential.
“Sustainable development is core principle. We are committed to balance the economic growth with environmental protection,” PM Manele emphasized.
PM Manele highlighted that the transition to green energy is one of the key areas that his government is seeking private sector’ participation in, especially in renewable energy projects.
“These initiatives are crucial for climate change mitigation and ensuring long-term energy security for our nation.
“We also focus on sustainable agriculture.
“Our policies are designed to promote agricultural practices and protecting our natural resources, while ensuring that they continue to provide economic benefits for our future generations.
“We believe with the right balance, we can achieve all economic prosperity and environmental sustainability,” PM Manele said.
The forum has successfully concluded last week.
