The Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele is currently out of the country to attend the 12th edition of the World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The three days Summit runs from Tuesday 11th to Thursday 13th February.
His follows an invitation from His Highness, Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
This will be the first time for Solomons to attend the World Government Summit since its inception in 2013 and it is an important meeting for Solomons.
The Summit provides a unique platform where world Leaders convene to discuss, strategize, share their experiences of good practices and where lessons can be learned, seek solutions to address global issues and challenges and undertake transformational reforms aimed at achieving sustainable development, progress and prosperity for all countries.
Prime Minister Manele will join other world leaders in government, international organisations and the private sector.
There are six (6) focus areas covered in the Summit and they are; effective governance and accountability; financing the future and the global economy; climate, crisis mitigation, and resilient cities; human-centric futures and capacity building; global health transformation; and emerging frontiers and the future.
There will be forums on the future of mobility, artificial intelligence, government services, future of education, the SDGs in Action, among others.
The Prime Minister will participate in High Level Discussions with other world leaders and join a panel discussion on the future of climate change and crisis mitigation.
Prime Minister Manele will also have bilateral meetings with other world leaders and heads of international organisations.
Prime Minister Manale and delegation left for Dubai on Friday and return on 16th February.
