Dear Editor – Interestingly after much outrage and calls from the opposition, civil society and the general public in the media for SSPM Andrew Muaki to resign and further calls for the Prime Minister to leave up to his ideologies and promises, hence, should immediately sacked or terminated his SSPM, there appears to be no serious movement or action at all on both leaders just to do the most honourable thing, that is for the SSPM Muaki to resign peacefully or the Prime Minister to terminate his SSPM Andrew Muaki forthwith. No more no less.
The issue appears to be watered down if not diluted with sulphuric acid therefore have evaporated into thin air and is a none issue, or shelved into filing cabinets and left to rot.
If other regional and world leaders have done exactly that, why can’t our leaders do the same?
The law of the land have spoken, he was found guilty and ordered a fine of SBD10,000 dollars for three (3) separate misconducts to be precise (sexual harassment) cases, brought before the Leadership Code Commission by its officers after I believe much investigation into these allegations.
Perhaps if these gentlemen still insisted these are all speculated and fabricated fallacies or science fictions, then the general public demanded a detail clarification of these cases to be printed in the media so as not to cause doubts.
What has the SSPM have that we don’t, says an insider of the Prime Ministers office, why is the Prime Minister holding on to him, he should be removed as the alleged incidents were very serious matters.
The Public Service General Orders (GO) provisions for such an offense is crystal clear, suspension or termination is the legitimate answer to this sort of behaviour and misconducts, therefore should immediately take precedence. Such action if indeed taken would signal to other Public Officers to be more considerate and to lash out to any demonic or satanic behavioural infiltration in the work places.
SSPM Andrew Muaki you are a man of principle, a respectable person and Lawyer, loved by your family friends and wantoks, you have nothing to loose, just do the right thing by handing in your resignation and leave the highest office of the Prime Minister for someone else to carryon with your work. You may have better opportunities out there than in the Prime Minister’s Office.
To our Prime Minister Hon Sogavare, remember even before your election as Prime Minister, the people of this country have signal you out to be the right man with leadership qualities to lead our sovereign Country forward and they cheer and salute as you stood before them at the Parliament House pronouncing you would not tolerate corruption and would tackle corruption head-on. You have also denounced and will not tolerate sexual harassment in work places.
However events currently unfolding before our very eyes, have not perceived our perceptions on the kind of qualities you are well known for, please restore our confidence and trust that we may continue to believe that you are a man of principle and that the destiny of our country is guaranteed.
As such Honourable Prime Minister, officers who are not performing as expected and who have intentionally violated the laws of the Land and are sexually harassing female officers in your office should be suspended and terminated forthwith, Remember your office is the highest office of the Land and as you fully aware ringing the bell of sexual harassment in that office significantly demean and belittle your status and those working in that office and the office itself.
Hence, getting rid of such officers would rebuild our confidence and trust in you and your Cabinet for a much longer time to come. So start erasing the odd numbers to restore credibility, integrity, trust and confidence. God bless our Government and Leaders.
