PRIME MINISTER Manasseh Sogavare has been praised as the true son of Solomon Islands.
Senior Statesman John Maetia Kaliuae has made the comment in light of the current political turmoil which attempts to oust Prime Minister Sogavare from leadership of the government in an intended no confidence motion scheduled to be tabled in Parliament this Friday.
In an interview with Solomon Star, Mr. Kaliuae said Prime Minister Sogavare shone out in his true colours when he humbly accepted an invitation to attend the Central District Dorcas event held at Paru community in west Guadalcanal.
Mr Kaliue said despite his busy schedule, Prime Minister Sogavare found time to attend the occasion.
He said Mr Sogavare’s attendance at the grassroots event had shone out bright and clear about the type of leader he is – a down to earth, which he said is rare to find in Solomon Islands.
He said Solomon Islands are fortunate to have a leader of high moral standing like Prime Minister Sogavare.
Mr. Kaliuae said his admiration of Mr. Sogavare’s good leadership quality thrives him to appeal to members of parliament to render loyalty and support to a leader of Mr. Sogavare’s standing.
“This country desperately needs leaders with mature attitude to take this country forward socially, economically and politically.”
He said that such leader is none other than Prime Minister Sogavare.
