PRIME Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo yesterday thanked the visiting Republic of China (ROC)/Taiwan Youth Ambassadors when the delegation had an audience with the Prime Minister.
Gordon Darcy Lilo thanked them for visiting the people of Solomon Islands to learn about Solomon Islands culture and tradition.
“Thank you for engaging with our people,” Mr Lilo said.
The Prime Minister added that such visit was important to strengthen people to people relationship that has been shared between both countries.
Mr Lilo said the Solomon Islands Government would look into the possibility of starting programs to also send youth ambassadors from Solomon Islands to learn about the traditions and cultures of the people in Taiwan in future.
“I hope you enjoyed your short visit here and you will return with fond memories of our people,” Mr Lilo said.
Meanwhile, the ROC/Taiwan ambassador to Solomon Islands Victor Yu thanked the Prime Minister for availing his time to meet the youths.
He informed the Prime Minister that the Taiwanese youth ambassadors have really enjoyed their short visit here and they have learnt a lot from the communities and people they interacted with.
