The Prime Minister’s press secretariat office have clarified that expenses on the 60th birthday party hosted by the Prime Minister was footed by the Prime Minister and not from tax payers money.
The office made the clarification follow questions raised on social media over who footed the bill of the party.
Press Secretary to Prime Minister Deli Oso said the buffet dinner at Cowboys Grill bar last Saturday was paid for personally by the Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare.
“There was no reason at all for the Prime Minister to use funds from the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet because birthday celebrations have no provision in the PMO’s budget,” Mrs Oso said.
Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare and his family treated DCC Government ministers and backbenchers and the staff of the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet to a buffet dinner at the Cowboys Grill last Saturday, to celebrate the Prime Minister’s 60th birthday.
