The Office of the Prime Minister has denied there is pressure to remove members of the Kandere Party from the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government.
The Office of the Prime Minister was responding to media reports that the Prime Minister, Hon Manasseh Sogavare was under pressure to remove one of the coalition partners from the DCC Government.
“There is absolutely none. The Prime Minister was under no pressure. In fact, he was in the best of mood when he came out from daily staff morning devotion all week,” a spokesman said in a statement issued this afternoon.
“There is no (no) pressure to remove Kandere Party from the coalition. Kandere Party, like the United Democratic Party (UDP) and the People’s Alliance Party (PAP) are committed to the coalition,” the statement said.
The spokesman said the story making the rumour mills is a figment of imagination.
“The rumors floating about are from those who are keen to sow the seed of instability because they are not interested in seeing real development in the rural areas of this country – something the DCC Government is committed to from day one.
“I therefore appeal to the media fraternity to be agents of stability, purpose, substance and truth rather than being agents of instability and divisive tactics based on untruths,” the spokesman said.
“We all need to work together for the future and the betterment of our people and our nation,” the spokesman said.
