THE PNG national contingent to the much-awaited Sol2023 Pacific Games which arrived in the country on Monday is settling in at its designated games village – King George Sixth School.
Team PNG consisting of 483 athletes and 22 officials was the first of the Pacific regional contingents to arrive in Honiara, joining their advanced team which arrived earlier last Friday.
Team PNG will compete in 21 of the 24 sports to be played during Pacific Games.
Star sports was pleased to catch up with Team PNG’s tennis athletes at their village yesterday and were pleased to briefly share their experiences since their arrival in Honiara.
The Table Tennis Team Managers are Henao Ranu, Annie Loi and Moses Tolingling. The Coach is Rea Loi. They expressed gratitude for their accommodation, saying they are thankful for everything provided for them and they could not ask for anything more.
The Table Tennis Team Managers and Coach said transportation will soon be organised for their entire national contingent to cater for their transportation needs and thanked the host for arranging everything for them.
They said since their arrival on Monday, they have settled in well and are preparing themselves for their competitions.
The four called on the PNG community in Solomon Islands to come out and cheerfully support their national team whilst they performing at their very best during the games to win medals for Team PNG and PNG as a whole.
