A THREE-men team from the Papua New Guinea Triathlon Association left yesterday for the Oceania Youth Development Camp in New Zealand.
PNG Triathlon coordinator, Stephen Damien said PNGTA was sending a coach and two juniors from Wewak to the Oceania camp.
He said the coach was Malcolm Limbai, a teacher from Brandi High School and coach of the Wewak Triahlon Club while the two juniors were Troy Kua and Vianney Kipma.
This would be the first time for Limbai and Kua to travel overseas. Both were excited at representing the country. Kua and Kipma are members of the PNG development squad and would also be competing in the Pacific Islands Triathlon and Cycling Championships in Guam in June.
Damien said Limbai would also be understudying other international coaches from the Australia and New Zealand.
This trip was made possible through Oceania Triathlon Union, International Triathlon Union, Triathlon NZ and PNG Triathlon.
