THE Pan Oceanic Bank (POB) on Thursday morning had a simple but participative event to share and celebrate its 5th Anniversary with its customers both at their head office at Hyundai Mall and Panatina branch.
Speaking to the paper POB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kumar Wickramarachchi said during those events, they have shared their sentiments with their customers sharing anniversary cakes which were colourful and signifying the events.
Mr Wickramarachchi said they have planned the celebrations with a series of events starting from last month going on for a few more months to make the events more diverse and highly community oriented.
He said donation of patient beds to the National Referral Hospital (NRH) was very well appreciated by the hospital authorities.
“This donation fulfilled the need of beds to a newly constructed ward,” he said.
He added they also helped creating a new experience to school children especially in terms of encouraging green initiatives.
“POB had a Tree Planting Campaign at Coronation Christian School and also donated plant supportive equipment as a way to encourage students in green initiatives with plants and flowers,” he added.
He said there was also a donation of English Dictionaries to fulfill a need of the higher classes and achool principal and staff together with the students welcomes the move.
“POB is arranging more tree planting campaigns and activities of this nature as a part of their 5th Anniversary celebrations,” he said.
Mr Wickramarachchi said another event being organized is a Blood Donation campaign in collaboration with Solomon Islands Red Cross and the Hospital.
In terms of international business, he mentioned, “We are doing very well with our ‘Go Global’ with POB campaign we launched in March. It is a matter of making the customers know our International capabilities we have now with the new correspondent banking relationship we got into.”
During yesterday’s event of celebration, customers too have their say on that special day.
Some say they like POB because it knows their needs and expectations.
“They provide us with good services with smiles on their face all the time. We feel good walking into POB to do our banking.
“POB also has very friendly staff and always help us out in our banking matters and we also have our children’s savings accounts with POB Pikinini,” the bank said.
