Police in Buala have arrested and charged five suspects for house break-in at Buala village last week.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Isabel Province Inspector, Harry Vanosi said the home owner was away when the incident happened.
“The house owner was away to attend his mother’s funeral in another village when the suspects broke into his canteen and took a sum of $9,000.00 in cash with goods worth of $2,000.00 plus, ” PPC Vanosi said.
Supervising PPC Vanosi said, “The suspects used a hammer to break off the walling next to the counter and gain access into the canteen.”
“Upon apprehension of the suspects, the investigators recovered $6,200 cash and five sleeves of cigarettes. Among the suspects was a juvenile.”
Inspector Vanosi called on all young people to respect the neighbours in our communities.
“Young people, please learn to respect our neighbours and I must remind you that police are here to deal with any unwanted action in our communities,” Inspector Vanosi said.
The suspects had been released on bail and will appear before Buala Magistrates’ Court on the 12 August 2024.
