A FIFTH man on the run from police accused of the armed robbery at the Bank of South Pacific at Auki last year has been remanded in custody on Thursday afternoon.
Peter Kafa Eto was charged with one count of armed robbery.
Police however, did not retrieve the weapon alleged to be used in the robbery or proceeds of the money stolen so far.
Eto now joins his co-accused John Kiki, Nelson Ausolo, Solomon Wadily and Patrick Talo in custody.
They will all appear together in the Honiara Magistrates’ Court again on June 2 where bail applications will be heard for Kiki, Ausolo and Wadily.
This would be the third bail applications made for Kiki and Ausolo after the first two applications were refused.
The court earlier in the day heard the case of the four accused on which it was adjourned for the hearing of the bail applications and for prosecution to update court on the status of investigations.
Police will be continuing their investigations in the meantime and the court will be updated on the progress of it on the next court appearance.
All accused allegedly involved in robbing the Auki BSP bank on the morning of 27 November last year.
Prosecution alleged Ausolo was armed with a firearm and fired a shot before Talo and another co-accused still at large allegedly went into the bank and filled up bags with about (SBD) $200,000 and (US) $10,000.
Ausolo allegedly stood guard outside the bank.
Prosecution further alleged that before they took off from the bank, another shot was fired.
They were all also allegedly wearing masks at that time.
Lazarus Kwaiga of Emerald Lawyers is representing Kiki and Ausolo while Public Solicitor’s lawyer Sarah Karani represents Wadily.
