GUADALCANAL police have arrested a man at Tenaru, East Honiara on Tuesday afternoon for brewing the illegal home brew, Kwaso.
Deputy Police Commissioner Gabrial Manelusi during the police press conference on Thursday said the suspect was arrested while in the process of brewing Kwaso.
“Police raided the area and confiscated the Kwaso, a 45 cylinder gas and other cooking utensils which were used to produce Kwaso,” Mr Manelusi said.
“They successfully raided the Kwaso site following tips from informers from the community who supported police to reduce illegal activities,” he said.
The deputy police commissioner encouraged people in communities to work together with police to reduce crime.
“The more we partner, the more we will build a better Solomon Islands.
“Investigation into this matter is progressing.”
