OFFICERS of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the Honiara Central Police Station have arrested a male suspect in relation to the petrol bomb incident in Kukum recently.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operation Support (NSOS), Ian Vaevaso said:
“The arrest was made on 25 July 2023 in a quick snap police operation and currently the suspect is on remand after court approved a remand application from the police.
“The suspect was charged for multiple charges (possession of firearms, intimidation and malicious damage), appeared before the court, and will reappear before the Honiara Central Magistrate Court on 11 August 2023,” DC Vaevaso said.
DC Vaevaso, meanwhile, emphasised to citizens that such an act is very dangerous and is against the country’s laws.
“There are ways to solve problems or disputes in our communities. Police will not tolerate people taking laws into their own hands and endangering the safety and peace of communities,” he added.
