POLICE have arrested, charged and remanded two men in relation to an alleged robbery which occurred outside the Westpac Bank at Point Cruz.
Speaking at the weekly Police press conference, Police Commissioner, Frank Prendergast said that after intensive Police investigation, they have identified, located, arrested and charged both men who were accused of stealing $15,000 from another man at the bank.
“Both suspects are being remanded in Police custody awaiting their court appearance.
“They have been charged with the robbery,” Mr Prendergast said.
He added that Police would not have made the arrests had it not been for the good coordination and assistance of the general public, helping Police with their investigations.
“It is good to see the communities working together and closely with Police in efforts to hunt and crack down on crimes occurring not only in the national capital of Honiara, but also in the provinces,” Mr Prendergast said.
Mr Prendergast meanwhile continued to call on the public to render more of such support to Police in their investigations on other matters.
