POLICE in Gizo, Western Province, are mounting strong security operation as counting started on Thursday and continue Friday.
At the provincial capital, Police Response Team (PRT) and RSIPF officers are everywhere, securing all corners of the township.
Earlier, Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Mathias Lenialu told Government Communication Unit/Media in Gizo that he has confidence in his officers and affirmed that they have the capability and capacity to handle any situation that may arise.
“RSIPF Western has enough manpower with some additional manpower from Honiara, including Police Response Team (PRT) and officers are spread across the Islands with a balance of response team to any disorder.”
Counting for Western province continuous today.
