Malaita Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Alfred Uiga has highlighted the importance of education to graduating students at kilusakwalo Christian community high school last Friday.
He was the guest of honour during the ceremony.
Mr Uiga said, in the Western world, education plays a vital role in the society.
“Without quality education there will be no community commitment. This is indeed a high calling that require all of you to take heed of it.
“Education is the road to your future and needs you to guide it well and take ownership of it.
“You should strive hard in your studies since education is your key to living, so please guide it well, this must not be taken lightly.
“We must sweat before all our needs can be met. Even though some will unfortunate to secure placements next year 2015 but I would like to encourage you to return to your communities and help them to ensure that your community is free from anti-social behaviors that certainly it will ruin your life.
“I urge you to make use of the knowledge that you have acquired here and be the master of your own boat in your destiny when living the school.
“As you about to leave the school, I believe all your valuable contributions that you have rendered here, there is no doubt the teachers and school administration cannot deny it but should thank and appreciate you for it,” Mr Uiga said.
