As part of the Safe and Secure Pacific Games 2023 (PG23) campaign, the officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have raided and destroyed about three 3000 litres of home brew (kwaso) in the Alligator Creek area this week.
Police Operations Commander (POC) Assistant Commissioner (AC) Corporate Support Mr Stanley Riolo said the raid is part of the clean-up campaign prior to the PG23 next week.
POC Commander Riolo said almost all communities in the Alligator area distilled kwaso in their own kitchen on a daily basis and sold them.
Commander Riolo said no suspects were arrested as everyone turned hostile to police and pretended as if they were innocent.
Police warned those communities and asked them to abide by the laws of the country.
Mr. Riolo said community leaders express their appreciation to Police for the outstanding job and appeal for more of such raids to be conducted to reduce disturbance in their communities.
