KIRAKIRA police have commended the public of Makira for good behavior during the Christmas and New Year festive season and the elections of the new provincial premier and Speaker.
Provincial Police commander Richard Hane said the police greatly appreciated the respect and good behavior of the people during the entire festive season followed by elections of the new premier and speaker.
He said the people have demonstrated a true spirit of cooperation and peace in our society.
“We would like to thank everyone for such wonderful spirit of unity and peace and plea to the public of Makira Ulawa to continue with such good behavior,” he said.
He added that the police’s role in enforcing law and order during the festive season was a success due to the invaluable assistance it had received from community leaders.
