POLICE are yet to execute the warrant of arrest issued for a man who allegedly burnt down the Mbabanikira police post in Weathercoast of Guadalcanal.
The warrant of arrest has been issued for the accused Pua Misilisi on 16 April 2015, when he failed to turn up in the Honiara Magistrates’ Court.
Yesterday’s mention was for the review of the warrant of arrest.
Public prosecutor Bradley Dalipanda when asked on the status of the warrant of arrest said, there was no response from the case officer from the Henderson police.
He sought further adjournment to give time for police to execute the warrant of arrest.
Principal Magistrate Ricky Iomea granted the adjournment to 4 June for another review of the warrant of arrest.
Misilisi is facing an arson charge following the incident on the early hours of 5 June 2013 where he allegedly burnt down the Mbabanikira police post.
Residents of Mbabanikira woke up the next day only to realise the police post had disappeared.
The post was burnt down by the raging fire allegedly started by Misilisi.
The post serves communities from Marasa to Mbiti.
