Police at Henderson Police Station in Guadalcanal Province are investigating an attack on four men at Naro Village in West Guadalcanal on 25 April 2018.
It is alleged a 20-year-old man armed with a bush knife attacked four other men at Naro Village on the night of 25 April 2018. It is further alleged that one of the four men, a 27-year-year old, sustained an injury to his left hand during the attack.
It is also alleged that as a result of the attack, the other three men who have been lucky not to be injured retaliated and bashed up the alleged attacker injuring him.
Acting Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Guadalcanal Province, Superintendent Nixson Manetoga says, “My officers are currently investigating the incident and I would like to appeal to relatives of both men injured not to take the law into their own hands but assist the police with information that may help with the investigation.”
He adds: “My officers are proposing another trip to Naro Village this week as part of investigations into the incident. I encourage people there to assist my officers with information.”
“The 20-year-old man is at Henderson Police Station for his safety and is yet to be formally charged for the alleged attack of the 27-year-old man,” says Superintendent Manetoga.
He adds: “The man is yet to be charged as no formal complaint has been lodged with police by the 27-year-old man.”
