THE Royal Solomon Islands Police Rapid Response Team will soon make its presence felt in Malaita and Western provinces.
Malaita Provincial Police Commander David Wate said arrangements are being made with the Ministry of Police in Honiara to have the Rapid Response Team doing routine rounds in the two provinces.
“As I understand the government is still working on accommodation budgets to send over the Police Rapid Response Team here.
“The two provinces that will be visited by this team are Western and Malaita provinces.
“This is important to monitor the situation in the provinces,” Mr Wate said.
He said these provinces were identified because of their population.
In Malaita, Mr Wate said there is need for the Police Rapid Response Team to visit Auki to assist police in upholding law and order in Malaita Province.
