WITH the festive season fast approaching police will step up its presence in all communities in the coming days and weeks.
As such an operation during this season is coming up, the director for national community policing and crime prevention, Solomon Sisimia had revealed.
While he could give details of the operations, he urged communities to support their work.
“Police will mount a big operation very soon thus we ask all communities to work together with us,” he added.
“As we are about to celebrate the festivity, public and community cooperation with police is paramount.”
Its understood community patrols, traffic checks, boat checks and raids are expected during this period as part of maintaining law and order.
He also called on residents to report to Police any suspicious activities in their respective areas.
“As soon as someone sees any unusual or suspicious activities, do alert the police immediately.”
“We need to work together to say no to crime and ensure everyone have a peaceful Christmas celebration,” Mr Sisimia said.
