Police will be continuing to conduct their visitation program this weekend in Honiara and throughout the provinces.
The visitation program is a new approach that police are engaging in to establish a better partnership with the communities.
Police will visit targeted communities in Honiara and across the country.
It is to help improve information and intelligence gathering as police and the community work together to identify and deal with issues affecting communities and not waiting for crimes to occur.
Deputy Police Commissioner Gabrial Manelusi yesterday acknowledged the support from communities within Honiara and the provinces during their visitation program last week.
“Your continuous support will keep our communities safe and bring peace to our communities,” Mr Manelusi said.
“If you see anything wrong or suspicious in your communities, you can come and tell police or discuss with leaders in your community or church leaders to help prevent it from happening before it gets out of hand,” He said.
He said this is the approach we should take.
