Only two football clubs have registered for the Honiara Football Association (HFA) Pre-season competition so far.
This was confirmed by Marlon Houkarawa of the HFA Administration.
The two teams are Juniper FC and Solomon Sheet Steel FC.
Houkarawa said if there are no more teams to register, these two teams will go straight to the second stage of the pre-season competition.
The second stage will see Juniper FC and Solomon Sheet Steel FC joins two teams who have been relegated from the previous HFA league season in a round robin playoff to determine which two teams will join Division 2.
“If no other teams are registered by tomorrow (today) then these two teams will join the two relegated teams for a round robin league to find the two winning teams,” Houkarawa.
As a result of the lack of teams registered the Honiara Football Association (HFA) Pre-season competition scheduled to kick off this weekend might not eventuate as planned.
Houkarawa said hopefully the competition will start the following weekend.
Registration for the pre-season competition will lapse today, Friday March 24.
The HFA League proper will kick-start on Saturday April 15th.
