THE Malaita Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Superintendent Leslie Kili, has called for calm amongst relatives of the deceased following the double murder incident in East Fataleka on Monday.
Speaking to Solomon Star Auki, PPC Kili urged the relatives of the deceased not to take the law into their own hands as the case is now under police investigation.
PPC Kili said the double murder incident is a sad one and expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the immediate family of the deceased for their ‘great loss.’
The PPC also thanked those who worked with police in ensuring the suspect was handed over to them and reminded them that working together with police in such brutal crime scene is important to ensure the suspect faces court and is brought to justice.
He said the suspect, who is in his 20s, is now on remand at the Auki Correctional Centre (ACC) waiting to appear in court.
With that latest murder incident in East Fataleka, the number of murder victims in Malaita Province from December last year to this week, stands at four.
