‘YOU are our concern, you are the worry of the Premier’s Office, you are the concern of the Executive government and the Ministers; you are our sleepless nights.’
Those are the sentiments of the Premier of Makira/Ulawa Province Stanley Siapu during the 2nd Appointed Day celebration last week.
“Yes, I did outline the current Provincial Executive Government’s Vision, the Mission, the Principles, where the Aims and Priorities lie, the Constraints and Challenges facing our rural communities; but in spite of all these challenges I am proud as a Makiran and Ulawan that we do also have a lot to be thankful for in our beloved Makira Ulawa Province.”
” These positives, my people – we must NEVER LOSE SIGHT OF, we must EMBRACE them and we must MAKE GOOD USE OF THEM for our own betterment.
Mr Siapu says, “ my executive government deliberates each day for you, my dear people. The more we grow from strength to strength, and amidst the many struggles we face, our government vows to endeavour more and more, deeper and deeper still, in our ongoing strife to enhance the livelihood of our rural people of the Makira Ulawa Province.
“You are our concern, you are the worry of the Premier’s Office, you are the concern of the Executive government and the Ministers; you are our sleepless nights,” he said.
The Makira premier said there were three things he desired for his people:
· That the rural people sleep well at night;
· That the rural people eat good and proper food; and,
· That the rural people afford their children’s school fees.
“This is why my Government, the GPCA has in place a Policy Statement that defines our plans to address these issues.”
“Removing these struggles ensure that you have a good life,” the Makira premier assured his people.
