It is time to give way for the young generation to lead the country forwards, says the Malaita Provincial Premier Daniel Suidani.
Premier Suidani uttered this in his keynote address to mark the International Youth Day in Auki over the weekend.
He told Malaita youths to rise up and take up leadership roles. For that he encouraged mature leaders to make way for young, educated, and energetic youths to lead the way forward.
He is of the view that some leaders are too old to lead the country which has a youthful population.
He said involving youthful leaders to make decisions at the top level is very important because they are the ones who will reap the fruits of the decisions reached in the future.
With that, the Premier said he is happy to see many potential youthful leaders emerging from Malaita province where he encourage them to continue to shine and be good role models for the youthful population of Malaita province.
